hoboLingo... is a set of cross‑platform command line C language programs, collectively used to "translate" (in both directions) text in a natural language (for instance English, French or German) into an artificial "lingo" that uses a vocabulary "harvested" from any text of either the same, or a completely different natural language. Such "lingo‑translation" text mimics the text of a natural language. The purpose of translation is to enable storage or transfer of digital content using text‑based systems that obstruct or flag the use of more efficient binary‑to‑text encoding. While such text transformation does not offer the protection equivalent to properly designed, implemented and used cryptography software, it offers more than adequate counter‑measure against the intrusive monitoring of private communication currently practised by popular email and messaging services and their sponsors.

While text manipulation programs mentioned abpve work identically on any UTF-8 encoded text (whether in a disk file, system clippboard or in an e-mail message) on any operating system, three OS-specific Graphical User Interface ("GUI") programs programs called hoboLingoWrite[L|W|M] (for Linux(L), MS Windows(W) and Apple MacOS(M)) simplify the use of those text manipulation programs by providing a graphical interface resembling a simple "text-editor" application (for instance, Linux "Mousepad", MS Windows "Notepad" or MacOS "text editor".

MS Windows hoboLingoWriteW GUI application is still under development, but the application is already supporting the functions necessary to interact with any email system. [File] and [Edit] top levem menu items perform the same set of functions as they do in Notepad. [Translate] offers the ability perform direct and inverse "translations" between the natural language content of editor window, and hoboLingo equvalent. Using the system clipboard the content can be copied to either an open web-mail browser window, or a message composition window on local mail client application (for instance, Thunderbird) - or to perform the translation in the opposite direction. This enables sending and recieving of reasonably secured email messages without the need for any support on the part of e-mail service operator (or even awareness of the service operator that the content is protected), and without the need to install any email encryption software on the computer, or to sign up for any encrypted mail service account.

The program requires no "installation" on the computer. It is sufficient for text manipulation programs mentioned in the introduction to be in the same directory as the hoboLingoWriteW GUI program. That directory need not be on the computer's hard drive, it may be on a removable USB memory device.
